Passport Renewal or Replacement
If your passport is renewed or replaced whilst in a foreign country the passport must be taken to Immigration and the Visa or extension of stay transferred to the new passport. Failure to transfer the visa may prevent you from leaving the country you are in. In Thailand an Overstay fine could be applied which carries a maximum penalty or 20,000 baht and/or detention.
